Accessibility & Inclusivity

Safety and comfort are two of our highest priorities. C.L.C. classes strive to create a safe space accessible to people of all experience levels, abilities, and identities.

Inclusive Dance Environment

C.L.C. classes are designed with dancers of all levels, backgrounds, and identities in mind. As a queer dancer managing chronic pain and autoimmune conditions, Cari has seen first-hand how difficult it can be to find a space that feels both physically and emotionally safe, leading accessibility to be our highest priority. Classes utilize inclusive language, hands-on assistance, and personalized alternative movements. C.L.C. classes focus on highlighting individual ability. Rather than celebrating our body's ability to "keep up with" or replicate choreography, we challenge ourselves to break free from comparison entirely, celebrating each body for its ability to embrace what feels pleasurable, nurturing, and transformative.

Accessibility Accommodations

No prior dance experience is required to join a C.L.C. class. All choreography is beginner friendly, taking into consideration the range of mobility and flexibility in each dancer's body. Alternative movements are always available, either as a part of class or upon request. Our goal is to encourage dancers to find their own flow, moving freely from a place of compassion and self-care. We always say, "alternative movements may be easier on your body, but they certainly won't be any less sexy!"
